Tire Rack

tire rack review

TireRack.com is one of the best sites online to buy your tires. You have the option of shipping them to your home or directly to a preferred installer. Let’s dig into what makes Tirerack.com a great site to buy tires.

It’s hard to imagine that a company that started out in 1979 taking orders over the phone would become the leading online tire store today. Selling more than 2 million tires a year, Tire Rack also sells rims, suspension, and brake parts.

It’s no wonder Tire Rack appears on the top of reviews for best online tire resellers. Sean Phillips from About.com indicates, “I advise customers who are looking online for tires to always look at Tire Rack first, because even if they do not end up buying there, Tire Rack will give them the best advice available, both online and over the phone.”

Positives

Tire Rack makes your online search worthwhile as a one-stop shop: The site has some of the lowest prices on name brand tires and carries an excellent selection of tires, rims, brakes, and other car accessories.

From my experience, customer service and order tracking are also top notch with these guys. I have personally ordered several products from their website and never had any issues with the orders.

Best of all, Tire Rack allows you to search for installers near you. They also provide free shipping on any order over $50.

Tire Reviews/Ratings

One of my favorite features on tire rack website is the reviews page. This page is extremely helpful as it allows you to crowdsource tire reviews for your specific vehicle. I love this feature because it allows you to see how various tires have performed for your vehicle based on other users. This helps tremendously in narrowing down which specific tires you will purchase.

Negatives

The homepage of the site is a bit cluttered and can be confusing at first glance. Although you’re able to choose the make and model of the vehicle initially, you may have to choose a trim size for vehicles with sub-models.

For example, when we searched for a 1984 Chevy Camaro, we were unable to select the sub-model, Z28, so the website needed the trim size to match the right tire to the right vehicle.

As always, do your own diligence and shop around when purchasing tires to find the best possible deal.
